FAQ

Integrated Manual Therapy

What should I expect?

You first session you should expect a thorough assessment including muscle testing, ROM, and joint testing. After assessment your area(s) of concern will be treated in a pain free manner. Post session you may be recommended corrective exercises.

What should I wear?

Females: sports top and shorts.

Males: shorts.

The goal is to keep you covered while having as much access to the body.

What is the micocurrent machine used for in IMT?

It will be used primarily for scar release therapy (SRT).   SRT applies Microcurrent Point stimulation (MPS), a patented solution that increases inter-cellular metabolism, protein synthesis and healing functioning to re-awaken the skin’s ability to self-generate.   Find more information on their site: www.dolphinmps.com

Will my treatment hurt?

All sessions should be pain free. Depending on the condition(s) you may be presenting with at times the therapy may experience different sensations, but it should never be painful. It is encouraged that patients be vocal about pressure received and painful areas the therapist may encounter.

Full Body Massage

Is there draping?

Yes.  Full body massages are draped for your safety and comfort. You may disrobe to your comfort level but YOU WILL NEVER BE EXPOSED for any reason.

What is the difference between full body and integrated manual therapy (IMT

Full body massage (FBM) is broad based incorporating the full body. IMT is more specific in working in fewer areas of the body on one specific condition.   FBM is available for 60 or 90 minute sessions.  Both types of sessions may incorporate the same modalities, though scar release therapy (SRT) is unlikely to be performed in FBM.
